What is Finca Terra Incognita?

Terra Incognita is an old traditional farm. Like all farms in these wild regions, it has been partly deforested for farming and stockbreeding. Nonetheless, many peri-peripheral or more inaccessible areas have been preserved.

Our project consists of supporting natural reforestation and reintroducing the biodiversity lost when the most maderable varieties of trees were cut down, as well as developing traditional cultures such as cocoa and vanilla.

Our dream is to share all this. We want to build wood and tree houses to welcome travelers, open trails and build platforms for animal and bird watching.

Our project

Where is Finca Terra Incognita located?

Terra Incognita is located in the south of Costa Rica, on the Osa Peninsula, in the heart of the Reserva Forestal Golfo Dulce and a few hundred meters from the Corcovado border.

This region has been presented by National Geographic as “the most biologically intense place on earth”. Its exceptional location allows many activities on site or nearby.

The finca is located about 20 kilometres from Puerto Jiménez, where you’ll find all the amenities you might need: restaurants, supermarkets, banks, a hospital, a post office, a petrol station, an airport...

For other meals, you can have food delivered from Puerto Jiménez. There is a fairly wide choice of menus. There are also restaurants within a 10–15-minute drive of the finca.

Are the cabins safe?

The cabins are completely open to the outside. While there’s no danger, this experience may not be suitable for everyone.

Are there any mosquitoes?

Objectively speaking, there aren’t many mosquitoes in our area. The huts are open-plan, but the beds are fitted with effective mosquito nets.

To be honest, when we sleep in our huts, we take the mosquito nets down...
